What  is the difference between an estate sale and a garage sale?

An estate sale is typically held to liquidate the entire contents of a home, often because the owner is moving to a new location, or the homeowner has passed away.  A garage sale is held to get rid of unwanted or excess household items, often to declutter or make some extra cash.

How do you advertise for the sale?

We use Estatesales.net and our own website GLEstateSales.com. We also have an email blast that we send out to our clients notifying them of upcoming events and item that will be sold.  We also advertise on social media such as Facebook and Instagram.  The day of the sale we place signs in the surrounding area.

Do payment types do you accept?

We have several forms of payment we accept.  We accept cash and all major credit cards... AMEX, VISA, Mastercard.  We also except, VENMO, Zelle, and CashApp.  However, we will not accept checks.

Can I or a family member be present during our sale?

We prefer all family members be absent during the sale.  It is very emotional time and it is hard to see sentimental items being sold.

If a loved one passes away, who in the family do you need to speak with?

The Executor of the estate is the only person legally who can make the decisions.

What kind of fees do you charge?

The Consultation is FREE.  We will assess the household and discuss fees at that time.

Do you require upfront payments or a deposit?

No.  GL Estate Sales works on commission only.  We are paid from the proceeds of the sale.

How long does it take to organize an estate sale?

Depending on the complexity of the estate, an estate sale can be organized in 2-3 weeks.

What happens to unsold items?

We provide you with options for unsold items, including charity donation, auctions, or disposal.
